Christmas is celebrated on the account of Jesus' birth, but Jesus was actually born in the summer. Saint Nicholas was giving fruits and toys to children at night to see their happiness. Soon people called him Santa as they didn't know who it was giving precious gifts to them.
Evergreen trees were started to be used as they believed that evergreen trees kept away witches, ghosts, and evil spirits.
Soon this festival was called Saturnalia. Soon this legend continued on 25th of December, Santa would come and give gifts to all children around the world on single night while they are sleeping. Soon children all around would write letters to the North Pole where the children believe Santa lives as he cannot be immortal.
