Name again
[edit]The name in the text keeps getting changed to "Brigham Young University-Hawaii" (with a hyphen). I see that the appropriate name has been discussed previously. Before a hyphen (or more appropriately, an en-dash) is added throughout the text of the article, the article itself would need to be renamed to reflect this. That would require a move proposal. If the article name doesn't have the hyphen, neither should the text of the article. Good Ol’factory (talk) 23:44, 19 February 2009 (UTC)
- The university's name guidelines shows the name as "Brigham Young University Hawaii" (no hyphen when name is spelled out) or "BYU-Hawaii" (with hyphen when abbreviated). This school's usage is different that that of the Idaho university. The Wikipedia article should be consistent with the usage by the university. Alanraywiki (talk) 01:13, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
- I agree. But regardless of what is correct, we need to keep the usage throughout the article consistent with the article name. If an editor wants to add the hyphen, they should be proposing that the article name be changed rather than just adding the hyphen throughout the text of the article. I've had to revert these changes several times on this page and others. Good Ol’factory (talk) 02:20, 20 February 2009 (UTC)
Update
[edit]User:ChristensenMJ brought it to our attention (see diff) that Brigham Young University-Hawaii has updated its identity guidelines so that its name is now hyphenated, similar to Brigham Young University–Idaho. I am moving this page accordingly. —Eustress talk 18:19, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
- I've updated the main links and references, however I'm not sure how to move the categories. —Eustress talk 18:46, 24 April 2009 (UTC)
- I'll move the categories to conform. Good Ol’factory (talk) 05:20, 25 April 2009 (UTC)
