This is a list of car-free islands: islands inhabited by humans which have legally restricted or eliminated vehicle traffic from their territories.

 United States Mackinac Island in Michigan.[9] Cars were initially banned from streets in July 1898.[33] The use, possession or operation of any motor vehicle is against the law, with very limited exceptions.[34][35]
Bald Head Island, which is off the coast of North Carolina and only accessible by boat or through the ferry system. Travel on the island is by bike or by golf cart.
