Fails living persons policy
[edit]This article is currently failing our Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons policy. After removing a fansite forum, the only link remaining is benjybronk.com, a blank GoDaddy page stating that "THIS WEBSITE UNDER CONSTRUCTION", providing nothing as a reference for this text. I'm having difficulty qualifying anything in the article with a reliable source, should this be restubbed? Can't sleep, clown will eat me 17:37, 17 September 2006 (UTC)
- I tend to agree. Even 4 years after this post, 99% of the page is sourced from the fansite forum. I would nominate this article for deletion if I knew how. There's plenty of precedent for this: Sal Governale, for instance, does not merit his own page on wikipedia and is instead included on The Howard Stern Show staff page, and he not only works on the show; he has a moderately successful standup career. Bronk's so-called claim to notability is simply being on the show's staff, and nothing outside of that.Rockypedia (talk) 05:50, 2 December 2010 (UTC)
Marks Friggin as a source
[edit]Is it acceptable to use Marks Friggins Howard Stern Show site as a source for Howard Stern related wikipedia articles?
- Unfortunately, no. LilDice 11:16, 14 March 2007 (UTC)
- A Mark's Friggin or Rundown source is better than no source at all, but if you can find a more reliable source use it. I think both would probably be considered fan sites or vanity sites. Mark's Friggin especially. Also take a look at the talk page archives, they go over using mark's friggin, and some other issues. I think some of the stuff they say may referring to copying and pasting whole sections of Mark's Friggin instead of paraphrasing. I've been using rundowns to cite show events and to create an timeline on show people, but that is because I can't find a better source.(Optigan13 05:03, 15 March 2007 (UTC))
Age/Girlfriend
[edit]Benjy announced that he broke up with his long term girlfriend on The Howard Stern Show (Sep. 25th, 2007)
Benjy's age was proven to be 40. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Christopherjhan (talk • contribs) 17:56, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
The long term girlfriend was Shiela. He subsequently was in a relationship with local celebrity Ivy Supersonic.
Also, Benjy continues to refuse to confirm his actual age. I don't know how that conforms with the verification rules. Steve Langford of Howard 100 News found his high school year book, and confirmed his age through that.Simon (talk) 12:22, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
I went to high school with Benjy and he was born in 1967 and graduated from Daniel High School in 1985. I posted all this and uploaded pictures of him from the elementary school yearbooks that at one time were linked on his entry. But all the trash that people posted eventually removed them and some didn't believe me. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.171.73.212 (talk) 04:51, 7 April 2008 (UTC)
Benjy was NOT born in 1971. Nor is there any proof of it in the cited page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 97.76.153.85 (talk) 16:24, 14 October 2008 (UTC)
The cited HS page says he was born in '67, so I changed it accordingly. Aroundthewayboy (talk) 04:42, 16 November 2008 (UTC)
Merge tag and article issues (notability, primary sources, and refimprove)
[edit]The article is missing references aside from two show rundown citations and an article where Bronk was interviewed about hailing a cab (where they said his age was 30). If they aren't improved to both verify the information, as well as firming up why anyone who doesn't listen to the show would think he isn't notable enough for his own article. If not the article could end up being stubbed as the Bubba article recently was [1], or deleted. I don't think there are that many sources out correct for this which is why I already merged the article once[2] only to have it reverted about a week later [3]. I'm for merging the article again, but if anyone can provide more sources then I'll pull the tags. Optigan13 06:16, 7 October 2007 (UTC)

AGE ISSUES
[edit]Not to feed into his Shtick, but what is with the birthday citation reading "Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; no text was provided for refs named Guiness_Book_of_World_Records_1991" ??? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 169.132.18.249 (talk) 21:14, 10 September 2008 (UTC)
Date of birth (again)
[edit]This seems to be a continuing problem. IMDB gives Sep 4, 1967 and is cited in the article. There is a claim that NY Post of 24 Mar 2000 gives a date of Sep 24, 1971, but I can't find that on the NY Post website. My feeling is that IMDB is probably more reliable anyway, but it would be useful to have a link to the NY Post article. Meantime, IMDB is the only credible source so I feel that the 1967 date should stand. Canthusus (talk) 06:28, 8 December 2009 (UTC)
- The reason you can't find that article on the NY Post website is that it never existed; Bronk's correct birthdate is 9/4/67. Steve Langford of Howard 100 News obtained a copy of Benjy's 1985 voter registration card which confirmed that date as well.Rockypedia (talk) 05:34, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

Detlev Bronk
[edit]Is there reliable information that proves Benjy Bronk's relation to Detlev Bronk? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.216.137.144 (talk) 22:34, 8 April 2010 (UTC)
Benji Bronk and the last Pope
[edit]why has Benji's prophecy about the Pope number 112 "the last Pope" not mentioned in this artical? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.162.219.51 (talk) 04:24, 9 April 2010 (UTC)

Benjy himself editing this page
[edit]on the show it was revealed that benjy edits this page. is that allowed? Ashburn247 (talk) 09:16, 15 April 2010 (UTC)
Benjy editing birthdate on page himself, as user Archhow
[edit]I don't know how to put a stop to this, but user Archhow (all of his contributions are to the Benjy Bronk page, plus one editing the Benjy Bronk section on the Howard Stern show page) is vandalizing Bronk's birthdate over and over again, in attempts to hide his true age. Any ideas?
