I am mainly used for disambiguation by running the solve_disambiguation.py script as well as performing category maintenance for Wikipedia:Categories for discussion using category.py under pywikipediabot.

I was marked as a bot on September 19 2004 and thus my changes do not normally show up in recent changes. To see them, click the "Show bots" link on that page.

In 2004, using the pywikipediabot software to make changes to pages was loosely considered "bot" edits and thus CanisRufus was classified as a bot. As well, pywikipediabot required Wikipedia credentials be stored unencrypted in a file and I was an administrator, so I created this separate account to alleviate security concerns.

This bot is currently inactive as there are technical issues preventing pywikipediabot from working on my computer. RedWolf (talk) 20:51, 15 September 2024 (UTC)
